Marchant-Holliday School is an Ofsted graded Outstanding independent special school for boys aged 5 to 14. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan for social, emotional and mental health needs. The school provides day and weekly boarding provision within a nurturing, relational and highly supportive environment.

Our vision is that all children can thrive in a caring, tolerant, understanding and supportive environment. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, build self-esteem and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our pupils benefit from small class groups, a skilled staff team, extensive grounds and a broad curriculum that includes swimming, outdoor learning, music, gardening, trips and residential enrichment.

The Role

Marchant-Holliday School is seeking a dedicated, reflective and enthusiastic Integrated Therapy Assistant to join our expanding integrated therapy team. This is a key role within our specialist SEMH provision, supporting pupils’ communication, sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, cognition and learning needs across the school day.

The successful candidate will work under the direction and supervision of our Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, School Counsellor, Integrated Therapeutic Practitioner for Play Therapy and Counselling, SENCo and senior leaders. The role will include supporting assessments, preparing resources, delivering agreed intervention programmes, recording and tracking progress, and helping to translate therapeutic advice into practical strategies that can be used by classroom and residential staff.

This is not a role that sits separately from the classroom. Our integrated therapy team is embedded across the life of the school. Integrated Therapy Assistants work alongside class teams to model approaches, support pupils in the moment, develop communication and sensory resources, and help ensure that therapeutic provision is woven into daily routines, relationships and learning opportunities.

A significant part of the role involves assessment administration, record keeping, preparation of resources and impact monitoring. This work is vital in helping us understand pupils’ starting points, track progress and ensure that support is carefully matched to pupils’ EHCP outcomes, cognition and learning needs, communication profiles and therapeutic plans.

We are looking for someone who is organised, warm, resilient and practical, with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEMH, communication, sensory and learning needs. The successful candidate will understand the importance of relationships, consistency, humour and compassion, and will be confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
