Novalis Trust is a charity that supports children and adults with Neurodevelopmental Difficulties and other learning needs.
Novalis Trust has had an exciting opportunity arise for a Drama Teacher. The role is working across both our schools at Cotswold Chine School (Minchinhampton) and William Morris School, (Eastington) for both ECTs and suitably qualified experienced teachers.
We are a supportive team who welcome teachers from all backgrounds and levels of experience looking to develop a career in special educational needs teaching. We specialise in trauma-informed, attachment-focused relationship based, therapeutic approach to teaching.
Our schools provide a nurturing environment for teachers to develop their existing experience or build on their teacher training as an ECT.
Responsibilities for this role:
- At our schools the successful candidate will teach individuals, small groups and whole classes across both schools (split two days at William Morris and three at Cotswold Chine). Groups will be supported by the pupils’ usual class teachers.
- There is an opportunity to learn from an experienced team to develop strong knowledge of trauma informed, attachment focused therapeutic teaching.
- Both schools’ cohort is made up of pupils age 7 to 19. The candidate will be expected to have experience of or be willing to access training in order to teach at accreditation level (LAMDA, GCSE or similar).

Requirements for this role are:
- The ability to form relationships with young people, reliability, resilience and a flexible approach to working with others are important.
- Experience in special needs is not essential as training will be provided.
- Qualified teacher status with Drama teaching experience
