Talbot House Children’s Charity are looking to recruit a Deputy Head Teacher with the right experience and dedication to work with our children with Special Educational Needs and to join our passionate staff team. The successful applicant will support the Head Teacher with the effective management of the school, as well as some line management responsibilities including SENDco. We are a registered Charity, which is a non-maintained special school, with up to 70 pupils ranging from Reception to Year 11. Class sizes are usually no larger than 6-8 pupils. We take referrals all year round. We have children on roll from up to 6 local authorities across the Northeast. This role is heavily involved in our referrals process.

Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 2 years of senior leadership experience and hold qualified teacher status (please see our job description and personal specification for full details) with experience of working with, and developing support and provision for SEN pupils. The successful applicant will have excellent management and organisational skills, will be able to demonstrate experience of leading, managing, motivating and supporting school staff, while developing good working relationships with pupils, parents and / or carers and the wider professionals who form part of our unique provision here at Talbot House.
