This 90-minute interactive training session is designed for classroom teachers working with SEN students, teaching assistants and subject coordinators adapting curriculum for diverse learners.

Training numbers are limited to ensure an interactive and hands-on learning experience.

Learning outcomes

Participants will learn to:

• Create differentiated resources using AI to match reading ages while maintaining age-appropriate content
• Generate interactive digital flashcards and other digital resources for revision that accommodate SEN learners
• Adapt existing video content into accessible learning materials using transcription tools and AI
• Create bespoke social stories with image generators and use other multimodal AI such as music generators
• Build a complete lesson sequence from curriculum to individual lesson plans using NotebookLM and the SEN guidance

The session includes live demonstrations of tools, hands-on practice using participants’ own (anonymised) data, and practical takeaways such as template prompts and a quick reference guide for future use.

Prior to the session, delegates will be sent a prompting guide which has the prompts and tools that will be used during the session

Darren Coxon led the NASS AI Pilot Programme for special schools. With 25 years of experience in education, Darren is a prominent figure in educational technology and a recognised expert on AI in schools and colleges worldwide. He has delivered impactful training sessions, keynotes and workshops for leading organisations such as HMC, COBIS, NAHT and ISA, and spoke at the NASS Annual Conference in October 2024.
