Full Membership
Membership of NASS is open to all types of fully registered special schools.
This includes independent, special academies (including converter and free schools), multi-academy trusts with special schools, non-maintained, and maintained special schools.

Associate Membership – schools and individuals
Associate school membership is open to all newly registered special schools that have not yet received their first full Ofsted inspection.

Associate school members are expected to move to full membership status within one year of their first full Ofsted inspection, on the anniversary of their joining date.

Individual associate membership is open to individuals working in the fields of special education, residential care and disability outside of special schools.
Group Membership
If you would like to apply for NASS membership for your Trust or Group, please complete the form below and a member of the NASS team will be in touch.
For Trusts and Groups, we calculate annual membership fees based on the number of schools within your organisation. Discounted group membership is available to organisations with two or more schools eligible for full or associate membership. To qualify, all special schools within the organisation must become members. Depending on the size of your schools, it may be more cost effective to apply as individual school membership.
