Teacher of Computer Science, New College Worcester, Worcester

New College Worcester (NCW)

New College Worcester is a nationally regarded non-maintained residential special school, devoted to the education of children and young people with a vision impairment aged 11 – 19.  We offer our students the full national curriculum and Computer Science is offered at both GCSE and A Level.

TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE.  Ref: AC213/0921

Salary:  By Negotiation + SEN (min) or SEN (max) for QTVI

We are keen to recruit the right candidate to work at NCW and are willing to consider applications for either a full time or part time appointment – 0.6 FTE and above.

Technology is life changing for young people with sight loss and we need to appoint someone with the expertise and passion for inclusive education that our students rightly deserve.

Experience of teaching students with a vision impairment is NOT a requirement of the post as the College is primarily interested in appointing a talented and committed teacher who we can train and support to learn the skills needed to teach students who access their learning via access technology and braille.

The salary increases to the maximum SEN allowance once fully qualified as a teacher of the Vision Impaired (QTVI).

NCW is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post is conditional on two verified references, a medical questionnaire and an enhanced DBS check and Registration.  Candidates must complete an NCW application form, CVs alone are not accepted.  All positions at NCW are also subject to a six-month probationary period.  NCW is an Equal Opportunities employer.

NCW is a very friendly and rewarding place to work. If you are interested in finding out more about us please get in touch with Sheila Wood (HR) by email swood@ncw.co.uk
