Senior Speech and Language Advisor

Location: Dawn House School, Rainsworth, Nottinghamshire

Contract type: Permanent, 40 weeks per annum (term time plus 5 days during school closure or Saturdays as required), 35 hours per week

Salary: £33,204 FTE

Start date: March 2020

We are currently seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at I CAN’s Dawn House School, located in Rainsworth, Nottinghamshire. This a fantastic opportunity to further your career in a specialist school for children with a range of speech, language and communication needs which has recently been rated by Ofsted as “Outstanding”.

  • Have a small caseload of not more than 25 children?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Senior Speech and Language Therapist keen to develop their career, skills and knowledge in a specialist educational setting. If you have are qualified and have been working as a Speech and Language Therapist for at least 3 years then this role may be just what you are looking for.

Preferably you will have previous experience of working in an educational setting. You may also have additional experience of specialising in other areas such as Sensory Integration, social, emotional and mental health, dysphagia, or another clinical area relevant to our pupils. You must be HCPC registered and a member of the RCSLT.

I CAN’s Dawn House School is an outstanding specialist school committed to the highest level of quality integrated education, therapy and care. Dawn House School is a non-maintained day and residential school for pupils aged between 5-19 years, who have severe and complex speech, language and communication difficulties (including Asperger’s Syndrome) with associated learning and/or behavioural difficulties.

You will work collaboratively as part of strong and supportive multi-disciplinary team of teachers, therapists, teaching assistants and residential care officers, with class groups, smaller groups and with individual children. You will be working with a small complex caseload and supporting the children to fulfil their full potential at school, in our residential setting, at home and in their communities.
