Permanent, Full Time Contract (42 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, all school holidays paid)
£18, 800 – £19,600 per annum (depending on experience) inclusive of all allowances

I CAN’s Meath School based in Ottershaw, Surrey is a day and residential non-maintained primary special school for up to 75 pupils aged 4 to 11 years, where language disorder, high functioning Autism and associated difficulties is the primary need.

We are looking for a Residential Child Care Officer to join our committed and friendly team on a permanent basis.  You will encourage children to develop confidence, self-esteem and essential life skills. As part of our team, you will work hard to empower our young people, help them break through barriers and experience a range of varied opportunities and activities.

As a Residential Child Care Officer you will plan activities for the children to be involved in and work closely with other staff in school including Therapists, Teachers and LSA’s. You will communicate effectively with parents and carers, complete daily reports and personal care within morning and evening routines. A number of the children we support may need assistance with personal care, such as bathing, toileting and getting dressed.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children & Young People or will be willing to work towards this qualification.
