Permanent Sensory Support Teacher/s Required:

Qualified Teacher of Hearing Impairment and Qualified Teacher for Visual Impairment

Permanent part time posts (Min 14 hours a week, Max 30 hours – per post)

Salary – Up to £33,200 per annum (based on 30 hours a week)

Ingfield Manor is a day and weekly boarding (term time only) school for 60 pupils aged 3 to 19 with neuro-motor impairments such as cerebral palsy. We are looking for an enthusiastic Qualified Teacher of Hearing Impairment and Qualified Teacher for Visual Impairment to join our team, where the learner truly is at the center of everything we do.

The successful applicant(s) (QTVI / QTHI) will be enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals.   You should have recent experience of working with visually impaired / hearing impaired children and have the ability to work both as part of team and independently. You will ensure our children and young people have appropriate technological aids (visual / auditory) to support their development, working in partnership with members of our class teams, families and other stakeholders. You will deliver planned, comprehensive and co-ordinated support and direct teaching for our children and young people with visual / hearing impairments, promoting inclusion and enabling access to learning, as well as writing reports and creating visual /hearing passports. You should have knowledge and understanding of appropriate assessment tools for children with disabilities.

It is desirable for applicants interested in our QTVI post to have an understanding of CVI.

For both roles, we are looking for someone with strong personal values and emotional resilience, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all teams. You should have good IT and organisation skills in order to work flexibly. You will ideally have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of educational legislation, the SEN code of practice and OfSTED inspection frameworks.

Knowledge and experience of working within a Conductive Education setting is not essential, as comprehensive training will be given.
