Who we are
Our sector-leading, ‘outstanding’ (Ofsted, 2018) therapeutic schools for pupils aged 5–16 (all of whom have EHCPs for SEMH) have provided innovative, specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties since 2012. Today, we are widely acknowledged as leading the way in providing outstanding specialist provision for some of London’s most complex children.

What you will do and be part of
Teachers at Octavia House Schools are responsible for the highest standards of education and behaviour management for our pupils who have significant SEMH as well as other associated SEN. With a key focus on teacher well-being and workload, we have worked hard to reduce unnecessary workload for teachers, enabling them to simply focus on planning and facilitating learning through engaging, differentiated and appropriately challenging lessons. Teachers are at the core of leading the schools’ pupil-centred ethos and reflect the values and expectations at Octavia House Schools. Teachers work within a wider multi-disciplinary team of professionals and ensure that learning support team members know at all times what is expected of them when it comes to facilitating learning with specific pupils in their groups.

Our commitment to safer recruitment
At Octavia House Schools, nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our pupils. As such, we always follow safer recruitment procedures and do not allow anyone to work in our schools until/unless we can be confident that it is safe to do so. Our robust recruitment process and ongoing safeguarding culture are simultaneously the cause and result of our commitment to safeguarding; it is a commitment we expect and require from all of our staff.

All offers of employment are dependent upon the successful completion of all the relevant statutory vetting checks and the return of two satisfactory professional references. For this role, an enhanced DBS check will be required.
