Pield Heath House School is a non-maintained day/residential school for children and young people aged 7-19 with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and associated speech and language disorders. We are a member of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) and an accredited PBS School.
A Band 6 Occupational Therapist is required to work within a Therapy Team at Pield Heath House School, in Uxbridge.
Hours: 40 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time plus additional 3 weeks during the school holidays)
Salary Scale: Band 6: NJC Scale Point 25 – 32 £31,365 – £37,890 per annum dependent on experience

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work within a developing therapy service at Pield Heath House School. This is a non-maintained school for children and young people between the ages of 7 and 19 years, with moderate to severe complex learning needs and associated speech, language and communication difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of our children, young people and their families.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team and wider school team. You will manage a caseload and will contribute to the assessment of students’ functional skills and sensory needs and how these impact on their activity performance, and you will make recommendations and provide guidance to children, their families and teaching staff to help achieve outcomes. This will involve conducting assessments, writing Annual Review reports, delivering one to one therapy, small group therapy and class-based interventions, working in collaboration with teaching staff and Speech and Language Therapists, all in the context of holistic multidisciplinary working.
The Therapy Team is committed to embedding clinical interventions across all aspects of our students’ home and school routines, ensuring that our students are able to access their learning effectively. The successful candidate will receive support and clinical supervision from a senior Occupational Therapist. All therapy staff are supported by the Clinical Lead for Therapies Team.
