Head of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Salary – Competitive and dependant on experience.
St Elizabeth’s is a charitable organisation that supports children and adults with severe epilepsy and other complex medical conditions and learning disabilities. We provide support through holistic care, health and education services in a safe environment that enables vulnerable people to maximise their personal potential in all areas of life.
Established in 1903, we have a national reputation for specialist and high-quality care, making us a leader in our field. In 2018, the organisation has passed from the ambit of its founders – the Daughters of the Cross – into an independent charity and, as we look to the future, we need to ensure that we are well positioned to respond to the changing needs of our residents, learners and young people.
We are now seeking a new Head of Positive Behaviour Support, who will provide authoritative and professional operational management to our behaviour support team. Working with the Director of Education and Skills, you will help develop the Behaviour Support Team as well as help design our future delivery of behavioural and psychological support. This will include substantial involvement in design, training, delivery and evaluation of ongoing behavioural support services across the centre. Experience of managing and delivering Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs) will be highly desirable.
You will be a fully qualified psychologist or Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), with substantial and successful practical experience of working with children and/or adults with severe learning disabilities, behavioural and mental health needs. You will have strong management skills and experience of managing a team in a fast paced environment, and developing wider capacity and understanding of behaviour within a diverse team of professionals. You will be a value-driven professional, client focussed, able to exhibit strong clinical practice but at the same time, willingness, and commitment to support the ethos and values of St. Elizabeth’s.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person with the right values, drive and ambition to develop a team and whole centre approach at an early stage of its development. St. Elizabeth’s is a truly unique place to work, and will provide huge opportunities to develop you and your approach to working with adults and children in education and care. A real opportunity to develop innovative approaches to managing challenging behaviour and maximising human potential.
If you would like an informal and confidential discussion, then please contact Dr Alec Clark on 07767638203.
