Head of Care and Designated Safeguarding Lead – full time 37.5 hours per week. Salary £35,073 – £48,912 depending on experience
St Mary’s is a residential non-maintained special school and college for children with a range of special educational needs, including speech, language and communication, autism and other associated difficulties.
Our residential provision has rapidly improved in recent years and this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work with the Principal and staff team to further develop and enhance the offer we make to our pupils and students.
We are seeking to appoint a committed, suitably qualified and experienced Head of Care who has the vision, energy, and leadership skills to promote a culture of excellence in the teams that provide residential care to our pupils and young people.
The Head of Care will lead in the strategic management of our residential and social care services. This will include maintaining professional standards, quality improvement and service review. They will also be Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school and College and will work in partnership with colleagues to develop excellent practice and to provide training, advice and ensure the safeguarding of children and young people in our care is assured.
As Head of Care you will be a forward thinking and positive individual that can build on recent achievements and as a key player of the senior leadership team, you will be passionate and motivated to take the service to the next level.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in strategic and operational management, as well as a proven track record in working with Ofsted or equivalent. You will have the drive and skills to transform care, with evidence of improving quality, student experience, outcomes and efficiency.
You will be experienced in building strong partnership arrangements with all internal/ external stakeholders, LEAs and multi-disciplinary services across the social care economy.
