Actual salary: £17,682 – £18,860 (42 weeks / 37 hours per week)

We are seeking one full time or two part time (role share) Office Administrators to join our business and administration team. This role will suit you if you have good Microsoft Office and communication skills and have or would like to gain excellent administrative experience. You should look forward to working on and co-ordinating a range of tasks and projects, using a database and being an enthusiastic team player. You will need to be confident at communicating with visitors and staff and have empathy for the needs of our students. If you have the skills you will be able to gain lots of office-based transferable skills in this job.
St Joseph’s is a registered charitable trust comprising a special school, college, children’s home and adult supported living houses. Ours students are age 5-19 with severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities. Every member of our 300 staff plays a part in making a positive contribution to the lives of our students.
Our core office team within business and administration comprises 8 people. Within this role you will provide reception cover at busy times of the day including morning breaks, lunch, towards the end of the working day and at other times when our receptionist may be absent. You will be responsible for communications with families, the production of our half-termly newsletter (alternating with another member of the office team) as well as resources for key student events. You will look after student records, being responsible for keeping up to date database and paper records of new and existing students, acting as administrator on the school information management system (SIMS). You will be part of the team providing support for student annual reviews. You will also provide administrative support to other team members and functions on tasks such as website administration, cover for the care administrator role where required as well as ad hoc support. Students visit the office and reception so compassion, patience and empathy for their needs is vital. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment. The offices are located on the first floor of our college building and meetings take place in various buildings across the site. Candidates should possess physical and mental resilience. Own transport is desirable due to the rural location of the school.
This office based role is for 37 hours a week during term time including CPD days (39 weeks) plus 15 days to be worked during school holidays. Hours of working are 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.00pm Friday. Part time role sharers would be sharing a work station.
