Are you looking a for a term time only role?
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and approachable administrator to join our busy business support team during term time. This role will suit you if you are full of initiative, organised and work well to deadlines. You’ll also need excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with stakeholders of all levels. You should have good office IT skills, preferably including Publisher experience.
St Joseph’s is a registered charitable trust comprising a special school, college, registered children’s home and adult supported living houses. Our school and college students are age 5-19 with severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities. Every member of our 300 staff play a part in making a positive contribution to the lives of our students and tenants.
Reporting to the Office Manager, you will provide support to our senior leadership team including the Executive Principal and Head Teacher working on a range of executive functions such as the production of the termly report to Trustees and Governors, supporting the production of the college calendar, the School event planning process and organising stakeholder and staff events in support of the senior leadership team. The role will be responsible for the production of our half termly newsletter (alternating with another member of staff in the office team). You will be part of the team providing support for student annual reviews. The role also includes a range of core administrative duties including receiving and directing telephone enquiries, working with a colleague on support for the review of Trust policies and procedures, note-taking, reviewing and amending intranet content and providing reception cover at busy times and during absences. Students visit the office and reception so compassion, patience and empathy for their needs is vital. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment. The offices are located on the first floor of our college building and meetings take place across the site. Candidates should possess physical and mental resilience.
This office based role is for 37 hours a week during term time (39 weeks). Hours of working are 8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm Friday.
