‘Keeping children safe in education’ (DfE 2020) states that schools and FE colleges have a statutory responsibility to ensure that relevant staff and members of the proprietor body been trained in Safer Recruitment techniques as set out in part 3.

Essential CPD for Head teachers, principals and other staff involved in recruitment (e.g. HR staff, school administrators, bursars, volunteer coordinators and governors / trustees)

NASS are holding a virtual Safer Recruitment training event via Zoom on 27th January 2021, 9.15 am (9.30 am start) to 4.45 pm.

The course covers:

  • Safer recruitment and the wider context of safeguarding
  • Prevalence of abuse and profile of abusers
  • How abusers operate within organisations
  • Features of a safer recruitment process
  • Planning a safer recruitment process
  • Making the right decisions: interview and selection
  • Maintaining an ongoing culture of vigilance

This accredited training course includes an assessment.  To receive your certificate you must be in attendance for the whole event and complete the assessment.  Certificates will be emailed to participants following the completion of the training and receipt of a completed evaluation form.

About the Presenter
Carolyn is a highly experienced and skilled trainer in the field of child protection and safeguarding. She has already run very successful training programmes for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Safer Recruitment within our sector and will work closely with NASS to ensure that this course meets our need.

Bookings are non-transferable but delegate substitutions will be accepted.
Our invoice terms are strictly payment within 30 days of the date of the invoice.

Cancellations
50% of delegate fee will be refunded for cancellations received by Friday 15th January 2021.  After this date no fees are refundable for cancellation or non-attendance.
All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email or letter.
We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient numbers.
In the unlikely event that NASS have to cancel an event, our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the event fee only.
