NASS will be holding a virtual Safer Recruitment Refresher training event via Zoom on 3rd November 2020. Timings for this online training will be 9.15 am (9:30 am start) to 12:45 pm.
This half day session looks at the arrangements schools and children’s services must have in place to comply with KCSiE part 3 and / or relevant legislation. The content of the session presumes a working knowledge of safer recruitment & vetting checks.
Please note that this course is not a replacement for full Safer Recruitment training, although it will be a suitable refresher for delegates that have previously completed Safer Recruitment.
Delegates who can evidence that they have previously completed the full Safer Recruitment Consortium training (for example via NASS) will receive a Consortium ‘refresher’ certificate as well as the usual certificate of attendance.
To update schools on key elements of the safer recruitment and vetting process following recent changes to statutory guidance, legislation & regulations.
At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Review and update their safer recruitment procedures as described in Keeping Children Safe in Education part 3
- Fulfil their operational or strategic responsibilities in relation to the appropriate vetting of staff and volunteers
- Understand the implications of other new guidance such as ‘Disqualification under the Childcare Act’ 2006 (Regs 2018) and the GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018
To receive your certificate you must be in attendance for the whole. Certificates will be emailed to participants following the completion of the training.
