After the success of our inaugural online conference last year – where we welcomed over 180 NASS members – we’re thrilled to once again bring our special school community together for this impactful virtual free event.
A lot has happened in the past 12 months. By the end of June, we will have spent nearly a year under a new Government. In that time, we’ve seen what feels like a record-breaking wave of consultations, calls for evidence, inquiries and our first Education Bill in many years. While we still wait for the Government’s first policy pronouncements on Special Education Needs, there’s certainly been plenty to process and a lot of work to ensure the voice of our special school community is heard! Coming together as a community for NASS Connect is a chance for us to help make sense of it all, reflect on what we know and prepare for what’s to come.
Morning session (9.30am to 12.30pm)
In the morning, helping us to connect the dots will be Adam Sproston, Ofsted’s Senior His Majesty’s Inspector for SEND and AP and we hope to also have a senior Department for Education speaker join us. Other confirmed speakers include AI expert, Darren Coxon, who will update us on the latest developments in AI for SEND and lessons learned from the six-month NASS AI pilot programme involving 11 of our member schools.
Afternoon session (1.30pm to 3.30pm)
In the afternoon, join one of our five Special Interest Groups to explore key topics with expert speakers, tackle challenges, share practical solutions and focus on what matters most to you in your role:
