About the Presenter
Emma Roe, Solicitor
Emma Roe heads up the Commercial team at Shulmans LLP. She has wide-ranging commercial experience advising clients across all manner of commercial contract, IP and IT issues as well as specialist regulatory areas such as data protection issues and anti-bribery and corruption compliance. Her particular expertise in respect of data protection compliance has involved her in advising clients on reacting to data security breaches, co-ordinating large scale subject access request responses for educational institutions, advising on large volume data transfers on mergers of organisations as well as for the outsourcing of key services.
Helen Goldthorpe, Associate Solicitor
Helen Goldthorpe is an experienced commercial and IT lawyer with particular expertise in relation to data protection law. She advises on a wide range of data protection issues including audit and compliance programmes, information sharing, dealing with subject access requests and contracts with data processors. She has advised organisations in the education sector on issues such as the supply of information to central and local government, dealing with third party requests for access to learner records and subject access requests by employees and learners. Helen has also advised on contractual arrangements involving the sharing and processing of data including funding agreements and arrangements between institutions relating to the transfer of educational provision.
