Adverse Childhood Experiences in Education – helping schools to understand and support

NASS will be hosting the above event on Wednesday 1st May 2019: 10.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. at Church House Westminster, Dean’s Yard, London, SW10 3NZ.

Almost half of children in the UK experience at least one significant Adverse Childhood Experience, such as abuse, neglect or the loss of a parent from their lives. ACEs have a major impact on adult health and wellbeing. In school, ACEs can impair children’s ability to develop relationships with others and, consequently, to learn. ACEs can also invoke difficult feelings in staff that work with children who experience them.

This event brings together schools and professionals with expertise in working with ACE impacted children and young people to share experiences and practice.  We aim to leave you better informed, thoughtful and inspired to take action!
