NASS Special Interest Group Event Day 1 - 11/05/2010
Royal Court Hotel, Coventry, CV7 8JG
In 2009, the National Association of Independently Maintained Schools (NAIMS) agreed to become part of NASS. In return, NASS agreed to put on at least one event a year to meet the needs of schools that had been part of NAIMS - mainly schools catering for pupils with complex physical needs and learning disabilities.
This year's event will be held over two days at the Royal Court Hotel, Coventry and NASS is pleased to open this event to all members. Over the 2 days, we are running 3 different events and delegates are free to book for part or all of the programme.
On day 1, we are running a taster session on the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty. This relates specifically to services providing for young adults aged 18 and above. We are offering this in response to members' request for input on this topic.
In parallel to this, we will be running a free event for health staff in NASS schools.
For anyone staying the night, we will provide lots of opportunities for informal networking with colleagues and there will be further sessions from NASS and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust on day 2.
