ESTABLISHED DESIGNATED CHILD PROTECTION STAFF - REFRESHER TRAINING

Safeguarding Children & Safer Recruitment in Education (DCSF 2007) states that all designated Child Protection staff must attend training every two years to update their knowledge, skills and understanding.

Aims
To give opportunities for experienced designated staff to update their skills, knowledge and understanding of Child Protection within the context of provision for children with additional needs

Learning Objectives
- To provide information on recent changes in national and local procedures, policy and practice
- To give opportunities to consider the impact of legislation, guidance and research - and the additional challenges faced by specialist settings
- To explore the lessons learned from recent Serious Case Reviews
- To identify opportunities to further integrate preventive work into the formal and informal curriculum
This event is suitable for designated staff that have previously attended appropriate level 2 training and are now looking for an update.

About the Presenter:
Carolyn is a highly experienced and skilled trainer in the field of child protection and safeguarding. She has already run a very successful training programmes for Designated Teachers and Safer Recruitment within our sector and will work closely with NASS to ensure that this course meets our needs.
