‘Keeping children safe in education’ (DfE 2016) states that schools and FE colleges have a statutory responsibility to ensure that at least one member of every recruitment panel has been trained in Safer Recruitment techniques.
Essential CPD for Head teachers, principals and other staff involved in recruitment (e.g. HR staff, school administrators, bursars, volunteer coordinators and members of the Governing Body), this full-day course explores:
- the nature of professional abuse
- a safer recruitment process
- making the right decisions
- who to check and when
- creating a culture of vigilance
The day will allow you to discuss issues arising from the training with peers and an experienced trainer.
Previously known as the NCSL / CWDC Safer Recruitment training, the course is now owned and delivered on behalf of the Safer Recruitment consortium, of which NASS is a member.
This course is assessed; papers will be marked on the day and delegates who attain the required standard will be issued with the ‘Safer Recruitment’ certificate at the end of the day. This course requires a full day‘s time commitment.
